Bachelor of music with a Specialty in Secondary Music Education
Charles Richter is a native Texan who was born in Angleton, and spent his formative years in Lake Jackson, TX, where he attended Brazoswood High School. He studied music at Brazosport College and the University of North Texas before earning his Bachelor of Music degree from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in 1996.
Mr. Richter has spent his entire career teaching band at all levels in the greater Houston area. He came to Alief Taylor High School in 2002. In 2018, Mr. Richter was appointed to be the Head Band director at Alief Taylor.
In addition to teaching the band, Mr. Richter enjoys movies, fishing, travelling and spending time with his family. He looks forward to many more years preparing his students to be productive and successful in the world that lies beyond Alief Taylor High School.
