Alief Taylor High School opened in 2001 as the third comprehensive high school within Alief ISD. Alief Taylor High School is named for a man, a scholar who dedicated his life to furthering education in Alief ISD. Doctor Edward Taylor believed that with hard work and great teaching, our students would be capable of anything. Doc Taylor held his AP American students he taught at Alief Hastings High School to a high academic standard. He helped to launch the Advanced Placement Program that many of our graduates benefit from today. Alief Taylor High School seniors continue to benefit from our local scholarships endowed by Doc Taylor.
